AESI is an international solidarity organisation led by the students from the UFR LEA of the University of Lille.
Diaga, Aurèle and Clémence are the students behind this project as a part of their Master’s studies in Internation Relations and Intercultural Cooperation. They thought about the creation of this organisation after realising the lack of associative support for international solidarity projects within the university.
Their wish was to ease the access to the implementation of projects, in order to support and facilitate their implementation as well as their completion. To do so, Diaga, Aurèle and Clémence have worked in close collaboration with various university departments, as well as external partners such as NGOs or already established organisation in the field of international solidarity.
Message from our founders:
DIAGA :
With my friends Aurèle and Clémence, we put all our energy and determination into making this project a reality. We have worked tirelessly, in collaboration with university departments and external partners such as NGOs and associations already active in the field of international solidarity. For us, AESI is much more than just an organisation. It’s a deep commitment to the values of solidarity, openness to the world and active citizenship. We want every student to have the opportunity to get involved in projects that have a real and positive impact on society, wherever they are in the world.
AURELE :
Today, I’m proud to see the extent to which our organisation is growing and establishing itself as a key player in international solidarity within our university. But our journey does not end here. We continue to work with passion and determination to extend our impact and offer more and more students the means to realise their international solidarity projects.
I’m grateful to everyone who has supported us from the start and I’m convinced that, together, we can achieve great things.
CLEMENCE :
The idea for AESI was born out of our observations: a pressing need for support for international solidarity projects within our university. With my friends Aurèle and Clémence, all passionate about global issues and studying for a Masters in International Relations and Intercultural Cooperation, we decided to take action. Our objective was simple but ambitious: to make the steps needed to put our fellow students’ ideas for solidarity into practice more accessible. We wanted to act as facilitators and catalysts for their initiatives.
